The lentils from Castelluccio di Norcia have always been cultivated on the plains of Castelluccio, within the National Park of the Sibillini Mountains, at 1500 meters above sea level. Given the limited cultivation in this area, the real lentil of Castelluccio is a rare and niche product.
A peculiar feature of this lentil is the thin and tender skin that allows for cooking without soaking, greatly reducing preparation time.
